The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued multiple recalls last week, including notices for nearly 820,000 GM Sierra and Silverado pickup trucks over a tailgate safety issue.

Here is what to know about the vehicle recalls published by NHTSA from March 3 to March 9.
GM recall:Nearly 820,000 Sierra, Silverado pickup trucks over tailgate safety issue
Chevrolet recall for wiring damage that can cause a fire
Isuzu is recalling 2,891 of its 2019-2024 FTR, 2020-2024 Chevrolet LCF 6500XD, 2022-2024 FVR, and 2023-2024 Chevrolet LCF 7500XD vehicles that are equipped with a Mobileye Collision Warning System. The company has reported that the Mobileye camera cable may have been routed improperly. As a result, the vehicle may experience wiring damage and an overloaded electrical circuit. When a circuit is overloaded, it can overheat, which increases the risk of a fire. A crash can occur when wiring damage is present. The vehicle will lose the collision system functions, hazard lights and turn signals, according a report from the NHTSA.
Mechanics will inspect and reroute or replace the Mobileye camera and T-harness for free. Notification letters will be mailed out on March 29. Owners may contact Isuzu customer service at 1-866-441-9638. Isuzu's number for this recall is V2401.

Nissan recall over seat belt malfunction
Nissan is recalling 9,720 of its 2023 Rogue vehicles. According to the recall report, both the driver and front passenger seat belt pretensioner may have been incorrectly manufactured. This seat belt malfunction can lead to failure of properly restraining passengers. If a seat belt issue is not corrected, it will increase the risks of an injury during a crash, the NHTSA said.
The NHTSA also included in the report that these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection," 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies," and 210 "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."
Owners of the affected vehicles can visit their local dealers to replace the front seat belt assemblies for free. Notification letters are expected to be sent out on April 19. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is PD105.

Nissan recall over seat lap belt pretensioner
Nissan is recalling 12,019 of its 2024 Pathfinder and Infiniti QX60 vehicles. Due to a missing rivet, the lap belt pretensioner on the left-side front seat belt assembly may be improperly secured. If a lap belt pretensioner is not properly secured, it will fail to restrain an occupant during a crash, according to a report from the NHTSA.
According to the NHTSA report, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 208 "Occupant Crash Protection," 209 "Seat Belt Assemblies," and 210 "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."
For free, mechanics will inspect and replace the left-side front lap seat belt pretensioner assemblies as necessary. Notification letters will be delivered on April 18. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Owners may contact Infiniti customer service at 1-800-662-6200. Nissan's numbers for this recall are PD106 and PD107.

Porsche recall for unsecured windows
Porsche is recalling 8,101 of its 2020-2024 911 vehicles. The front windshield and rear window may not be properly secured and can detach. An unsecured windshield will not support the pressure of an airbag when necessary. This will increase a risks of injury during a crash, the NHTSA report revealed.
For free, drivers can bring their vehicle to the dealer where a mechanic will inspect and replace the windshield and rear window. Recall letters are expected to be sent out April 26. Owners may contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243. Porsche's number for this recall is ARA3.

Chrysler recall for incorrect weight capacity label
Chrysler is recalling 36,093 of its 2023-2024 Dodge Hornet and Alfa Romeo Tonale vehicles. The placard label displays an incorrect number for the maximum vehicle capacity weight value. If a vehicle has the wrong capacity weight value, the car may be overloaded, leading to a risk of a crash, according to the NHSTA report.
In addition, the NHTSA report states that these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."
Motorists can bring their SUV to their dealer where they will add an overlay label to the tire placard information for free. Notification letters will be delivered on April 24. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA's number for this recall is 28B.

Kia recall over risk of engine compartment fire
Kia is recalling 36,248 of its 2019-2020 K900, and 2018-2023 Stinger vehicles. The company has reported that the left turbocharger oil feed pipe and hose assembly may deteriorate and leak oil. When an oil leak occurs near a hot engine, an increase risk of a fire may occur while a diver is operating the vehicle, the NHSTA report states.
Owners of the affected vehicles can bring their cars to a local dealer. For free, mechanics will replace the left turbocharger oil feed pipe and hose assembly. Notification letters will be sent on April 26. Owners may contact Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542. Kia's number for this recall is SC300.

GM recall over tailgate safety issue
General Motors is recalling 819,566 more Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra models sold between 2020 and 2024 over a safety issue involving the tailgate.
There are approximately 570,434 vehicles being recalled in the U.S. and 249,132 vehicles being recalled in Canada, according to the NHTSA and Canada's Motor Vehicle Safety Recalls Database.
This is an expanded recall as the NHTSA announced an initial recall of 323,232 trucks last month.
